ANOTHER YEAR WITH BETTER GOALS

With the starting of 2019, another 365days,  hopeful days gets added to one’s life. One can optimize them by resolving and committing oneself to certain new goals. One can also promise to break free from certain routine habits and focus on new exploits instead. This can only happen when one prioritises and channelizes their energies in sorting out their life a little more. Start jotting down some of the New Year Resolutions that are most popular, one can figure out their own and most importantly, stick to them, to make this year a truly well lived one.

FITNESS GOALS, Reducing weight, getting the six-pack abs or increasing their endurance, whatever be it, setting up fitness goals is number 1 resolution of the year for most. It Can be a diet one has been wanting to follow or a morning walk that one has been postponing or simply finding out time to sit and meditate. This is the time to write it down and be fitter this new year. The demons of the mind can only control one if they let them. So shun one’s inhibitions and sign up for a fitness centre, yoga or regular walking for half an hour.

TRAVEL GOALS, In the fast-paced work life, travel goals often get ignored. Sometimes due to lack of company and other times due to lack of proper planning. This year plan ahead. Write down the places one wants to visit, club one’s long weekends, apply for leave, talk to friends and family in advance, book one’s flight tickets beforehand. A little attention in advance can help one to visit the places they have always wanted to see and make your vacation a dreamy one.

RELATIONSHIP GOALS, If one has not been a very active participant in their friends’ parties, re-unions or family get-togethers, here is their chance to redeem themselves. Family and friends time should become non-negotiable in one’s life and one must resolve to give attention to all the people who matter in their life. Work on one’s relationship by healthy communication and striking a balance between one’s personal and professional life.

SOCIAL MEDIA GOALS, In today’s world of virtual communication, don’t side-line oneself from the social media game. One’s posts doesn’t have to be about everything that one eats, visits or travels to, but make one’s social media presence felt by sharing and posting things one believes in. Expressing things out in open is sometimes very therapeutic, but one may never know what may follow, an opportunity, a meeting, a long-lost friend pinging. Being dormant on social media will not help, neither being too over-enthusiastic. Just keep it real and share a part of one’s life with a close set of chosen few. A rejoinder, always make time to meet them in real life. That is still irreplaceable isn’t it?

EXPERIENTIAL GOALS, Life is all about experiences, while some may want to go about their routine life with minor tweaks, others may want to embrace newer challenges and activities. If one has been wanting to sky dive, learn a musical instrument, travel solo or enrol oneself into a dance or art class, then wait no more and dive right into this opportunity and work on building new experiences.

WORK GOALS, A healthy personal life translates into a better professional one and vice versa. A little ambition never hurts anyone. Try and outperform oneself and be a better disciplined, clear-headed worker this year.

With a little prioritizing and attention to self, one will be able to hear and understand oneself better and steer one’s life, the way they choose. So, start jotting down your NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS and have a happy year ahead.
